ADCED has actively sought to foster an environment where learning has a central role. Improving our knowledge and understanding is fundamental to the work that we do. ADCED takes a proactive approach to training, with managers and employees seeking to identify learning opportunities and build these into employee’s Personal Development Plans. A diverse and varied range of training was undertaken in 2010, both within the UAE and abroad. ADCED has worked with number of learning training providers and academic institutions to deliver training to its employees.

ADCED has also used The Economic Review as a tool for developing the communication skills of members of its Strategy and Policy Planning and Information Management divisions. Training was conducted by leading journalists into writing techniques for publication, and contributors have received ongoing help and advice on developing their skills. Almost 20 ADCED employees have now contributed to The Economic Review.
