ADCED is an organisation that has learning at its core. Our approach in the Support Services Division is characterised by an aspiration for continual improvement and refinement to ensure that ADCED has the organisational frameworks and tools to reach its goals.
Our achievements in 2009-2010 show that we are an organisation that has grown up fast. We have accomplished a great amount in a short time. Of course, it is natural that we should wish for even higher levels of achievement: we try to excel and set targets that are very ambitious.
During 2009-2010 we can be justifiably proud of a number of initiatives:
- Our scholarships programme was launched. We are now sponsoring university bachelor and masters-level education for students from outside ADCED, as well as employees.
- We now have in place a first-class training framework that provides our managers and employees with clear routes to enable the learning of new skills.
- We have introduced best practice policies in a number of areas including HR, procurement, finance and training policies. A number of other organizations have used these policies as part of benchmarking studies of their own policies.
- We introduced a 360-degree appraisal system for all employees. This technique of assessing staff performance has been very valuable. It provides a platform for the opinions of employees to be heard. And we value these greatly. As we strive to improve the skills and knowledge of our people this really helps to gain understanding and plan future development programmes.
In 2011 we will continue to approach our work with a disciplined and focused mindset to ensure that ADCED has the best possible sport to reach its aims.
